Hi KVHA. My name is Tammy Robinson. I’m 46 years young and while my love of horses goes back to when I was eight years old, I’ve been involved with horses full time for a full five years. We used to go to horse shows and watch Tennessee Walking Horses. Then I received a backyard pony for a gift when I was eight.

As in the past, I will be showing my trail pleasure mare, Tyler Mountain Rose aka, Rosie. At KVHA it’s possible that we’ll show in the English Halter class and we can be found showing in the Walk & Favorite Gait Pleasure class. My goal for 2008 is to beat Jodi Mondy and her mare, The Secret Play! LOL. Seriously though, my goal is to have a safe, fun and winning show season.
To date, my greatest moment was the 2007 W.V. State Fair when Rosie and I won three blues and one red out of four classes. We won the Trail Pleasure Championship Trophy. The trophy was donated to the fair from Sandy Preston in 2000. Rosie & I are the only team from our barn, Tyler Mountain Stables, to win the trophy.
I ride and keep Rosie at Tyler Mountain Stables. Sandy Preston helps me with problems that sometimes pop up. The majority of the time, my daughter is my coach & trainer (Tracy Robinson).

As far as breed favorites, I love all horses; Rosie, in particular, because she’s mine. Another favorite is Heavens Lucky Star. Lucky is the first American Saddlebred that I showed (5-Gaited Pleasure) and she is truly an awesome horse.
Is there life outside of horses? Is there a life outside the barn? Haha. When I’m not at the barn I’m in the dog house! I love dogs. I’m a third-generation dog breeder and a second-generation dog groomer. I’ve been grooming dogs for 32 years. We own a Red Heeler named Savanna, a bunch of Chihuahuas and several Siamese cats. I also like to hunt, fish, camp, shoot pool and I enjoy music.

Advice for KVHA readers – Don’t give up! Just because you and your horse had a bad day or a bad class doesn’t mean they all will be like that. You must keep on trying. Trust me, I’ve had to live that example! Work your horse as much as you can, present yourself in the best way and hope for the best. That’s all anybody can do.

I would like to thank my husband, Dexter Robinson, for all his patience and money! My daughter, Tracy Robinson, for coaching me with Rosie and for keeping me grounded. I would like to also thank Marlena Thornton for teaching me how to ride. My greatest gratitude goes to Sandy Preston. Without her I wouldn’t have Rosie. I appreciate everything she’s done for me. A special thanks to Jodi Mondy for being a great friend, a very talented photographer and a person who knows some great trails! Life is good when you ride with Jodi (and you get great photos. LOL!).

Tammy & her daughter, Tracy,
