At 12 years old,
Kaitlin is no amateur at horse showing! We
caught up with her (and her sister
Olivia - below) and
sat down to chat about her and her favorite hobby.
What
is your name/age?
Kaitlin Morrison, 12 years old.
What’s your favorite food?
Pizza and Cheeseburgers.
How long have you been involved with horses?
This year will make six years.
When did you first get involved with horses?
I was about six years old. My mom used to ride and she thought it would be
good for me to get involved so that’s when I started taking lessons.
What horse(s) will you be showing this year at KVHA?
KM: I may show Sheeba and I will debut my new Registered American
Saddlebred, Radiant’s Town and Country (aka: T.C.) at KVHA.
What classes can we look for you in?
Junior Exhibitor ASB Show Pleasure and Juvenile Saddle Seat Equitation.
Tell us what you are looking to accomplish this
season.
…To improve every time I enter the ring.
Describe for us your favorite moment.
When I took second place at Bonnie Blue and also when I won the UPHA Ten &
Under Equitation class. Both highlights were with my ASB, Sugar. The UPHA 10
& under class was the last class I showed Sugar in. Sugar was lost in the
July 8, 2003 fire at Evergreen.
Do you have a favorite breed or a favorite horse?
My favorite breed is the American Saddlebred. Wild Eyed and Wicked and To
Die For both represent the breed really well.
What are you interest/hobbies outside of horses?
I like to read and dance and I enjoy basketball and run track for my school.
Do you have any advice or a quote you would like to
offer?
My advice: Don’t plan to always win, but always do your best and have fun.
My quote: It’s not how good you are but how hard you try.”
Is
there anyone you wish to thank?
My family, especially my parents and Ms. Barbour (Childress).
